We all love using home-made Christmas tags. How about a swap? Or Toss - suggest below if you prefer that (sorry, I haven't done one of those in years so need help on the rules) Basically - 2 swap types. simple tags. OR fancy tags (pick one or both) P lain Requirements: Rules are below. If you do fancy tags in this group, please do not expect the same type back. These are plain/simple tags or mini-cards. 1) cardstock base (no layering required, but ok to do so if you wish). 2) Use either 2.5x4" tag base or 3x3 card base. Yes, you can send a mix of them. 3) ribbon/raffie - some type of non-paper element through the hole at the top so it can be tied to or stuck on a package - THIS IS ONLY FOR THE TAGS. Mini cards do not need ribbon/raffia. 4) you can be as plain as you wish (simple stamped images) or get fancy. Swapping 2 per person. This one will be as large or small as necessary. 1. KMG 2. Scraprageous 3. Ceceparsley 4. 5. Fancy Requirements: See this site link (click here)1) Cardstock Base 2) ribbon/raffia - some type of tie element 3) minimum 2 techniques (stamping/distressing/inking/torn paper/paper piecing/foiling/distress inking/chalking/embossing/etc.). No plain flat paper. Yep - it is a challenge 4) minimum 2 embellishments (ribbon is 1, so bling, pearl, non-flat sticker, bells, heat embossing/mica powders/etc.) 5) The Tim Holtz size tags 6 1/8" x 3 1/8" Max group size = 4. 1 per person. Will do multiple groups if needed. If you are in more than 1group, different tags required. 1. KMG 2. Scraprageous 3. Ceceparsley 4. Due date would be December 5th. Swap out would take place that week (Tuesday if all goes well, Thursday if all goes poorly

Sounds interesting but Iโm a little confused. Plain and fancy are basically two different swaps?

In regards to a toss- to the best of my knowledge a toss is to fit in a business size envelope and each participant would mail to the other participants.

Sorry for confusion. Two swaps. Pick type you feel like. Either plain or fancy.
had one thought that changed as I typed. Did not edit the thread well.

Thoughts on toss for the plain ones? Thinking those would fit in standard envelope best.

Thoughts on toss for the plain ones? Thinking those would fit in standard envelope best. The only thing about that would be if you sign up for both you would probably want to send both swaps at the same time /place

I know I have been gone, a lot! This swap will still happen. After the election I should have more time (training people, planning, dealing with all the mis-information out there on a daily basis).

question-in the "Fancy" swap, the paper has to be embossed? I don't have anything to emboss paper with.

question-in the "Fancy" swap, the paper has to be embossed? I don't have anything to emboss paper with. I will try to answer for Lucinda To the best of my knowledge, paper does not need to be embossed. If you are referring to the part that says not flat- I believe that means donโt just to a piece of cardstock with only flat stickers. Add texture like buttons, brads, ribbon, charms etc. Hope that helps.

Example of simple. Just realized I took photo without the ribbons on the tags. Add a ribbon or yarn/string - some type of tie mechanism. Example of the 2nd style. 1 - plain white cardstock (heavy) that I cut into tag shape Next - techniques and embellishments. I will list each. It is easy once you start to go beyond minimums of 2 techniques and 2 embellishments - alcohol inks (technique - I didn't want the blending like others, and my room isn't setup to use sprays right now)
Ripped a piece of scrap cardstock, ripped (technique)
- Stickles for the center of the stamped snowflakes (embellishment)
- Heat embossed Text piece (embellishment)
- Stamped and colored snowman (technique)
- Ribbon for tag (embellishment)
- Inked edges of top of tag (embellishment or distress technique)
- Snow "paint" (no idea of real name) (embellishment)
- Embossed redbird on the snowman (embellishment - either embossing powder with versa mark pen or stickles or glossy accents - something to make it raised rather than flat)
2nd tag - started out the same with the alcohol ink. trying some new flakey glitter paint. not sure how it will work, so stay tuned! will post pics once they are uploaded/things are dried.

Photos are a bit slower than planned. Got home tonight to find cats had messed up one of the large tags I had made to use for samples. Fixing now. Below are a few samples (and it looks like i need a new trimmer blade Two 3x3 folding card type tags - simple and no need to layer paper, but I like to. 20221113_124335 by scraprageous, on Flickr Below are a few more simple tags, but I still haven't found my red ribbon so it is missing that part. 20221113_124343 by scraprageous, on Flickr
