I'm brand new here, so little back story.
Every first and third Thursday a group of ladies in my neighborhood get together for a few hours of crafting. We have a wonderful time and it's a great community of crafters that I now consider friends. Anyway, one of the ladies (Andie) croquets like you can't believe. She makes 3D dolls, animals, campers...you name it. Absolutely awesome. She sells her creations on Ebay.
Andie asked me a few months ago to do a scrapbook for a nephew that was graduating from high school. I reluctantly agreed. I say reluctantly because creating something for someone else (especially someone with her talent) makes my creativity AWOL. He played football, hockey and loves to fish. Each section of the folio highlighted one of those.
Overall I was happy with how it turned out. Andie and her husband were happy and they sent the gift to the graduate.
The folio was a hit with the graduate and his mother. I had goosebumps when she told me how much they liked it!
Thanks for letting me share!
I was happy to return to my junk journal project!

I bet you’re glad you said yes even though reluctantly. Any photos?

Sounds like a wonderful project!
when kids were in school, I would create albums for the seniors on the hockey team. Always enjoyed the challenge. One year we had 13. I roped in additional moms to help, most could not believe the work involved. It was fun.

I bet you’re glad you said yes even though reluctantly. Any photos? I don't think I took pictures. Wish I would have now. Oh well. It was my first "paid" effort. Andie had no idea what I really spent on it. I didn't quote a price so it's on me totally. She did croquet me a golfer I absolutely adore so I'm good!

Sounds like a great project. Isn’t it great when people really like what you made for them?
I made tribute albums for my oldest brother and my sister in honor of their 70th birthdays (several years apart). Both times I was worried about how they would receive them. They both loved them. It was so gratifying.
I don’t think people really have any idea how much time and money go into a project like that. Honest appreciation, not to mention excitement, really makes it worthwhile. Anyway, I’m so happy your hard work was well received.

It seems like most people who receive scrapbooks as gifts truly love them. It is a labor of love.
