This is kind of a spin off from the Twosday post.
When you buy supplies (dies, punches, stamps, washi etc.) do you buy for specific projects, just because you like them and will use them sometime on something, stick to classic designs that can be used often and interchangeable?

This is frustrating for me because I have a bit of my grandmother's frugality. I wouldn't buy a St. Patrick specific stamp (example) because I would rarely use it. I have a Silhouette and would cut an image (that would even be a struggle because it would cost a WHOLE BUCK!) This is frustrating for me, but I'm not busting at the seams with supplies. I have what I feel I need and can use. I did enjoy buying things for my journals like old books, broken jewelry and sari silk. So far I haven't missed a meal. If I would visit Scrapbook.com, for example, I probably wouldn't find much to buy that I really wanted. Then part of me feels guilty for not supporting my hobby... What a mess I am! I am going to Michael's today and buy more spray with the 30% coupon I received after my last visit. But, you know they will be colors on all use often. Arghhhhh!!!l

I often buy papers without a specific LO in mind. I usually buy kits only for a specific series of pages
I can stroll along the aisles and will buy that occasional stamp or sticker set without a use in mind. I keep a running list of To Buy on my phone.
I never just go for random SB supplies.

I try to buy with a project in mind. In the past I got things just because they were pretty and ended up with things I didn’t use and ended up giving away. Especially stamps. I’ll not buy any more of those!

I used to get hypnotized by clearance , but now am much more discerning.

I used to get hypnotized by clearance , but now am much more discerning. Ditto! I still look, but only buy my likes, not what I see others using. these days I don’t hesitate to buy for a specific project. I never would before and felt bad (weird) so gave that up and enjoy using the supplies I like. Biggest change, I toss/recycled any paper I don’t like. Now I am down to what I actually use. Lots of cardstock with mulch less patterned paper.

I tend to get sucked into online sales. I’ve been making myself wait a day or two before ordering. Usually I end up deciding not to order. It’s not like I need any more supplies🤗
