So, I see all these beautiful Christmas preparation albums and wonder - is it too much and - I would love to try that! This year - I am. How do I figure it? Especially as co-worker just called with COVID - so she is out a while and many other items coming up. 1) I bought (yep - actually purchased) a Vicki Boutin Christmas Album Set. Complete with 14 page protectors, 8 DS pages. That gives me a good start. 6x8 pages. Nothing else from line (it could be old for all I know, just after looking at various books, this is the one I thought looked doable) 2) I keep seeing fun ideas I would love to try, so today - try to get some base pages (un-numbered) into the album so I have all 40 days ready to go. 3) Goal for today - no idea, but I figure with the 14+8, I only have 18 pages to go. Some will simply be some cardstock I really like (Echo Park - The First Noel, some old K& Company - vintage Christmas stack, Stamperia with a reindeer, and other scrap). Some will be regular pages, some will be mixed media that I just plain like! 4) Then, starting on the 30th (with Advent), I hope to at least write an item or two down. Saw in various places that it doesn't matter what either a recipe, a photo, Bible verse/study, a tag from something purchased, receipts, gift list, Christmas card lists, etc. Anything goes. That is when I decided - maybe I can do this. Anyway - has anyone done one of these? Curious to any hints. Just one of those things out there I have always wanted to try but never gave myself the permission to go ahead and complete.

PS - if anyone thinks I sound a bit strange, giving permission for all these things, I came across another box of 'stuff' that I had meant to take to a friend a short time ago. You know the type I mean, going through/shopping/traveling and thinking, "oh, she will really like this". I had a beautiful box I bought for her and had been adding things. It was full the year before she died (at age 56). I never gave it to her. While I know the stuff wasn't important, that is not the point. That was the 2nd BFF I have lost. When you typically have one at a time (at least that is me), it takes time and there are always reminders. So - Take time to do, say, enjoy now. Craft/get the memories made. Write a note to a someone and send. The 'time' things mean more than you realize. Also, i don't mean adding 18 fancy/completed pages today . Just cutting some appropriate cardstock, adding some edge dies to a few pages, maybe a stamp here and there and adding in some vellum. Then making some fun embellishments to use through the month with scraps from the cardstock.

I have not done a December daily but applaud you for giving it a go. All your ideas sound great. A suggestion , I myself would make sure to include some photos of ornaments with the stories behind them. I really like Vicki Boutin’s products. I am going to attempt keeping up with a planner next year. Looking forward to seeing your project.

I have my base pages ready! Cleaning a bit so I can move forward and found another mini album I forgot I had started. One or two of the pages will make it into the December one with hopes of recipes!

First off, thank you for the description of a December daily. I never really understood. Sounds like great fun and I wish you every success in doing it.
I think the kit idea is a great starting point. Really gives you some flexibility for getting it completed.
Two people on YouTube I follow do a series called Dephemberember (something like that). Would love to follow that. Life has beer pretty unpredictable with our cat still having issues. Hopefully I can get a few other responsibilities out of the way and participate in the YouTube series.

Thanks, I will have to check out. Even telling family about the album in hopes they will contribute.
I will try to get some pics. Nothing extraordinary, but had fun creating a couple fun pages.

Her English is not perfect and she gets tickled at herself but is so talented. Worth a watch.

Your ideas sound great. I did a DD for three or four years but haven’t made one for several years now. You almost inspire me to start again.

I have never tried. I just knew it would be a project I would never finish. Now with the kids being adults, I don’t think I’d have enough ‘material’ to complete an album.
Yours sounds wonderful!

Joan, you can always put the focus on yourself... We don't do enough of that. Isn't this your furbaby's first Christmas? That has to be good for some material!

Ps. One note, I have a zink printer (prints via Bluetooth from phone). I pulled it out by book and that is what I hope makes this work.
