Do you tend to buy generic supplies and tools, or specific ones? For example, would you buy a graduation punch or stamp for $20, or figure out how to make a graduation embellishment with more generic tools/supplies?

I tend to be thrifty overall. I have a Silhouette, so I could buy a $1 cut file vs. a stamp I would use infrequently.
Anytime I buy things, they tend to be things that have multiple purposes. I would have to do a whole album on whales to buy a whale stamp or punch. This also pushes my creative thinking. Spend brain power, not money.

I do try to work with what I have. I will admit though that the word clearance does suck me in.
Please let me know when the t shirts are ready for ordering. You know, the ones that have- Spend brain power, not money.š

I donāt but anything with a very specific use (such as a whale stamp or punch, as mentioned). I have a lot of Cricut carts and so can usually find something that relates to my theme.p, or I use generic embellies such as stars, hearts, etc.

I try to be thrifty. Instead of a punch I might get a sheet of stickers. But even that bothers me because I donāt use all the stickers. My favorite place to shop is the ātrash to treasureā give-away table at crops. Iām also more likely to put something on that table to be used rather than hold on to it and let it gather dust.

I never used to buy for specific, always used what I have.
Then - the job. While I am still fairly thrifty, if i see something that will work for what I need, and it isn't too far out of line price-wise, I purchase.
That said, I love punches (and my cricut and my sizzix). However, figuring new ways to use what I have on hand is always fun. Ex Just saw someone use snowmen upside down with different faces on them (some cookie show) and I thought that was a neat idea. DD wants to decorate gingerbread men upside down for reindeer.
