So, do you adopt a word of the year? Resolutions? Goals?

No word for me usually. My piano teacher tells me I am too hard on myself and I've been thinking about that a bit lately. I've also been thinking about how much I would prefer not to cook. Another annoyance is having no time to play with paper on a routine basis.
If I was to adopt a word it would be self-kindness. If I could, I'd like to prepare meals so I only have to cook three times a week. (Fortunately DH and I like leftovers.) More time for paper means less time doing something else. This I will ponder. Last couple of winters DH has spent at good deal of time at our small modular house. He sold it (at the height of the market) and now must drive back and forth and he's home more. So, if I plan my day, he has plans for us too then my plans get squeezed or dropped. Fishing is ramping up so that should open my schedule a bit too. Our golf league takes a bit of my time too.

I keep 2 trackers for the year. One is the number of charity quilts I do throughout the year. And the 2nd list is the amount of kilometers/miles I walk. As you might imagine, one list does not help the other list. Lol.

I did not pick a word for the year. I had been better at setting goals in the past, they're pretty vague right now. I need to work on firming those up and how to track them.

I like the idea of a word for the year, but haven't done so in quite a few years. Goals - time for things that matter. A few (fairly common I believe). 1) walk more. Trying some challenges. Last year my walking goal was only 208 miles for the year. I achieved so now trying to figure a new one. No idea how to determine. 208 sounded like a lot, but it wasn't. 2) continue to eat healthier (excluding the past week or so - no guilt for celebrations eating. 3) allow myself time to craft/do fun online things Anyway - nothing spectacular, but important. Maybe a good word is Permission? Enjoy? Still thinking.

A few years ago my word was GLAD. Psalm 118:24 — “This is the day that the Lord has made; we will be glad and rejoice in it.” I try to be glad for my life, remembering that even though things are not perfect, I still have it pretty good and I thank the Lord for all my blessings.
