Saw this on you tube (yeah, I don't remember where - maybe it was actually on pinterest?). Regardless - start with some plain black cardstock in a box (maybe not so plain) cut a few (demo I saw used 2, but I did 2-3) before guessing, put over image - will it fit? Not rocket science, but I find it helpful! Most of my stamps have images on the packaging or i can hold over the stamp to see if it would work. The person I was watching sells stamps so put over the image in her cataloge. When it came to the background patterns, she used those as well. I don't have many pattern stamps (or I should say I have all I want as I don't care for them much - never used - maybe now I will?), but they are kind of fun to use now with a light ink and black text. Not sure I like any better than embossing, but it is another option!
