Yesterday I FINALLY carved out some crafting time.
As I'm in my pile of chaos, Gayle Agostinelli is playing on YouTube with a craft room clean up video. I commented on the video "Gayle - How can I craft in my chaos when you are cleaning up???!!!!! I just had a pile of stuff fall on the floor, but I'm finishing this piece of ephemera, and then I may clean up."
The power of suggestion. I finished what I was doing and then cleaned up. It will remain clean for about 3 minutes when I sit down at my table.
So, if you need clean up motivation, watch a similar video.
I think ShabbyDabbyDoodah is on the other end of the spectrum. I suspect her desk is a growing mountain of stuff. She has shown her desk in the past. Layers...upon layers. A craftering archeologist's dream. She changed rooms in her house so she did establish a clean desk about a year ago. Her desk has the occasional avalanche of stuff. I can't go that far.
What kind of a crafter are you? Clean, messy or over the top?
Joie Defi also had a clean up video yesterday. Must be a January thing. Anyway she said "Start by accepting that crafting is messy, don't get stressed if your desk is a mess." No truer words...

Right now my desk is a mess! I tend to not clean up immediately after I create something, so it gradually gets very messy. Then i\I break down and clean and organize and I'm good for a while again. And if one of the girls uses my stuff for a card or something then all bets are off!

I guess I fall into the “over the top” category. It’s not just my desk (which right now has about a square foot of working space) but the whole room. There is just a narrow path to the desk. I keep saying I’ll clean and organize soon but there always seems to be another craft project to do. And I just got a new order of photos from Shutterfly……… Deep sigh

I'm messy! I keep saying I'll clean up after each layout but that's really no fun. I'd much rather play than clean.

My studio floor is a disaster. Completely unintended but I was storing stuff in there. I love working on the floor and generally that project gets cleaned up. But I am terrible about leaving projects in various stages. I have started to be more mindful before I step away.

I am SO PROUD of myself! I played yesterday and today and I have intentionally kept things cleaned up and put away. A couple times I started to go off the rails and tightened it back up again. Go me! Hahaha I'm having a great time!

I bounce back and forth. I will try to clean up at the end of today, but usually only clean it on the weekends unless total disaster. Evenings are busy so not so much time then.

I clean up after each project, I have trouble working on a messy surface.
But when I am working on something, look out! I have everything out and it's spread all over my room.
