The first thought that pops to mind is that Clem is a bird that is down in the mine to track noxious fumes. But I can't figure out why Joe wipes his clean face. I hope I'm on the right track...

While sitting in her easy chair, drinking soda and watching a ball game, Bertha Dribble decided to turn over a new leaf. She decided to get into shape. Not one to make rash decisions, Bertha hollered out to her husband to go to the library and find her a book on physical fitness. When Mr. Dribble got to the library he saw a book with "How to Jog" on its spine. He took the book and returned home. When Bertha finally glanced at the book several weeks later, she found that it had nothing to do with getting into shape. what kind of book was it?

I'll keep it up for a few days to let you think about it

The answer to the above question is: It was an encyclopedia. The book simply carried entries of words that begin with 'How' to words that begin with 'Jog'
Next question:
Suzie is afraid of monsters hiding under her bed. She usually runs from her bedroom door and leaps onto her bed so the monsters can't get her. Even though Suzie's bed is twelve feet from the door, she manages to switch off her light and jump into bed before her room is dark. Since Suzie doesn't use any device to flip the switch, how is she able to accomplish this remarkable feat?

My first answer wouldn't have worked bc she switches the light off and then jumps. I previously wrote that she gets into bed a uses the "Clapper."So now I'm totally stumped...unless she goes to bed while it is light out.

Does she go to bed while it is still light and use a trampoline to jump the 12ft

all I can think is the switch is by the door, she turns it off and jumps down to her bed 12' below the door?

Ok--gotten! But I highlighted my clapper answer and typed over it. It shows I'm thinking. Anyone have other ideas?
